Innovation is spoken of by many, and truly understood by few. It cannot be taught but it can be nurtured and honed. Most innovation, in my experience, comes from non-neurotypical minds.
To know what to do, it is essential to know what can be done. We see an issue, challenge, or problem and from often the deepest recess of our memory or imagination we identify a technology or come up with ideas to match.
Covid 19
At the height of Covid we recognized the effectiveness of electrolytically derived ozone in almost every viral, bacterial and fungal agent. It stood to reason that it should be effective against Covid.
With support from Interface funding a study at the University of West Scotland. UoWS using a covid proxy achieved 99.999% kill rate. However the cleansing regime was also important. Contact us for the summary results
Clothes, boots and sports equipment
As ice hockey parents we know the stench from post-pubescent boys' (and adults') equipment arising from fungal and bacterial infections. We took a pair of foul-smelling ice hockey gloves, treated one, and kept the 2nd one sealed. After treatment we set the treated glove, virtually odourless, to dry on a radiator, the other glove remained imprisoned.
To investigate, this we are setting up a trial with Aberdeen Oomycete Laboratory which will evaluate this and investigate treatment for athletes' foot as well as a solution for hockey mums.
We have an outline plan to build low Temperature Autoclaves.
Applications in Aquaculture
My masters at the University of Edinburgh was "Industrial Process Control Applied to Scottish Salmon Farming"
There are some serious infections at play both in the freshwater seawater phase. Some trials have been conducted on saprolegnia, a pernicious and resiliant fungal infection in parr/smolts. There is a possibility it may assist in Aemobic gill dissease AGD. Research is being explored
